Talent recognizes no boundaries. Too often, however, opportunity does. Fight for Music is 360-degree career development program for young musicians who may have otherwise lacked access to production and industry resources. Working with students from high schools across the country, the program will recruit and help develop promising artists, taking a long view--cultivating individual careers and supporting sustainable feeders of talent and innovation within schools. With its dual focus on the creative and business dimensions of music, Fight for Music aims to empower artists with the complete set of skills, knowledge, tools, and connections necessary to make great music happen, and to make music careers a reality. In the process, Fight for Music will build lasting centers of musical excellence within communities, establishing personal traditions of mentorship, incentivizing the artists we work with to give back and to look forward. This unique approach aligns fully with the spirit of this historic moment, leveraging the passion of music with the business agility and ingenuity born of an age of global pandemic.
Joel's vision, commitment to change, and tireless willingness to connect to artists from all walks of life is what powers Fight For Music. Learn more about Joel and Fight For Music partner, Chip Fu.

We are musicians, producers, engineers and music fans. We've been making music for over 100 years and love what we do. We record and produce tracks with our talented composers and artists, and work with clients around the world to bring the highest quality music to their productions. And now, we are helping students get in the game. Throughout the years, we have forged many lasting relationships with industry professionals, one of which is with Chip Fu from Fu-Schnickens, our creative partner in Fight for Music.
The wealth of historically great music to come from under-served communities speaks to the genius of those communities and to the universality of music. But there remains much work to be done to develop the inroads of opportunity. Fight for Music is an actionable plan for opening doors and creating access independent of socio-economic and educational advantage. It’s a win-win-win for art, communities, and the music industry.
Phase One begins with scouting high school students through a music submission process, identifying and enrolling great talent. Five young people from different high schools will be offered a suite of educational programs addressing composition, production, and performance as well as promotion, career management, and subjects related to the music business and economics. The curriculum will include conferencing sessions with industry professionals, homework assignments, and end-to-end creative projects. Participants will emerge with polished skills and with a proven path.
Phase Two takes the methodology national. In addition to continuing the program with new students in new communities, de Wolfe Music circles back with the students who completed the program successfully, securing music licensing arrangements and offering interested alumni roles within the company. Ultimately, de Wolfe music looks to develop its own catalog with music generated via the Fight the Music program.
